Today, the old wooden flume forms an extraordinary route through forest, along the water, across bridges and through rocky passages. This Sound Journey follows the route as it naturally unfolds. Footsteps travel across weathered timber. Wood creaks beneath the walk. Water flows nearby, birds appear between the trees and wind moves through the forest. Along the way, the surroundings continually change, from open stretches beside the river to quieter passages between trees, rock and timber. There is no invented setting competing for attention. The story is already there: a historic structure, a real landscape and the sounds encountered along the way. Rather than presenting one isolated sound, this journey lets a real place develop over time. Depending on the selected licence, the sound can also be used as atmospheric background for film and video productions, podcasts, documentaries, digital storytelling, presentations, sound postcards, installations and other creative projects that benefit from an authentic sense of place.
