Story attached by the author to this sound recording:A trip to Sylt on a hot summer day – a choice that truly paid off. The calm sea and warm weather attracted many people to the beach.
The clean, coarse-grained sand radiated a pleasant warmth throughout the day. Relaxing on the beach, we enjoyed watching children play carefree by the water.
An unexpected highlight was our little picnic, which was interrupted by an attack from curious seagulls. A well-known phenomenon on Sylt: picnicking on the beach is something to avoid – a lesson we’ve not forgotten since that day.
