This audio recording takes you on a fascinating hiking tour along the old timber slide (Tømmerrenna) in the municipality of Vennesla. It’s the longest and best-preserved structure of its kind in all of Norway. The historic wooden construction, once used to float timber down from the forests, now offers a truly unique hiking experience. Your journey begins at the Steinsfossen Power Station parking lot. You’ll hear the creaking of footsteps on wood, the rushing of the Otra River, birdsong, and the whisper of the wind in the trees. Along the way, you’ll cross suspension bridges and enjoy breathtaking views of the natural surroundings.
