Story attached by the author to this sound recording:Graz Carillon – A Musical Landmark in the Historic City Center. The famous Graz Carillon is located at the square named after it – Glockenspielplatz – in the historic center of the city. Three times a day, the performance begins with six bell chimes. Then, small shutters open, and intricately carved wooden figures rotate outward on a central axis, clearly visible to the audience. In turns, three traditional Austrian folk melodies are played on 24 bronze bells. The charming finale is marked by a carved rooster flapping its wings and crowing – a cherished moment for both locals and visitors.
